Narratives that attempt to convince women of the desire for equality with men physiologically, intellectually and emotionally, specifically narratives that push the equality of outcomes when it comes to gender are disingenuous at best.
The reality is that men and women are different. Reality means objective, observable outcomes in the physical world, not fantasized realities without supporting evidence. Biologically men and women have different reproductive anatomies, which means women can bear children but men cannot, so there is no equality of outcome for bearing children. Someone could fantasize that a biological man can bear children without the appropriate anatomy, but there is no natural evidence to support this outcome.
Psychologically, science supports statistical differences between men and women. The article “Gender differences in personality across the ten aspects of the Big Five” by Frontiers in Psychology makes the following conclusions:
“By examining personality at the level of the 10 aspects of the Big Five, we demonstrated that gender differences in personality traits are even more pervasive than has typically been reported. In every one of the 10 traits assessed, significant gender differences were evident. For some Big Five domains, the aspect level traits showed gender differences in opposite directions, which helps to explain why gender differences are not typically evident for the Big Five domains of Conscientiousness and Openness/Intellect, and why the gender difference for Extraversion is typically very small.”
Now that we have established that men and women are physiologically and psychologically different, let us consider what the Word of God (Bible) says about men and women.
The Bible says that God created man and woman spiritually equal, see Genesis 1:27. Both man and woman are equally fallen beings Romans 3:23, and equally saved through Christ Galatians 3:27-29.
So if men and women are equal in value to God, why do physiological and psychological differences exist, why didn’t God just create man and not a woman?
The answer is in Genesis 2:18 and Genesis 2:24 “This is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.”
The creator of all things made a woman to complement a man and a man to complement a woman with differences in physiology and psychology so that they could become one flesh. Both male and female needed to have children, and ideally to raise children. Both roles equal to the goal of one flesh, but yet different in function but complementary to each other to accomplish the will of God in submission to each other.
Finally, the will of God for men and women can be found in 1 Thessalonians 4:1-4 and 1 Timothy 2:9-15.
