What do you imagine your spouse prays for/about you? Are you in agreement? #MarriageTip
If your wife is a follower of Jesus, she probably prays for you. Do you know what she prays for you?
What she prays should matter to you. You want her praying for your needs and you certainly don’t want her praying at cross purpose to your goals. The only way to know is to talk about it. Ask her how she prays for you and let her know what you would like her to pray about.
Beyond that, I suggest you encourage her to pray for you. Prayer is not an empty ritual, it has meaning and power. Our prayers can make a difference and sometimes that difference is in changing the heart of the one who prays.
When I feel a need to grow in some area, I ask my wife to pray for that. It’s sometimes a bit embarrassing to do that, but if I can’t even ask my wife to pray about it, I don’t have much hope of seeing the change happen. Verbalising my desire also helps me to get a better handle on it. And, of course, her prayers make a difference.
On the other side of it, ask her what she would like you to pray about for her. Then be faithful to do that!
